Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is the primary international airport serving the North Texas region in the United States. It is the largest hub for American Airlines and has secured the place of the third busiest airport in the world, as per the passenger traffic of 2023 and 2024. It serves more than 260 destinations, including 196 domestic and 73 international, through 29 Airlines. DFW is also the largest carbon-neutral airport in the world, being the first one in North America to gain this achievement.

It contains six terminals with 224 total gates. Hyatt Place, a luxury hotel, is located inside the airport on the south side near the car rental companies and the DFW headquarters. While Grand Hyatt can be seen above Terminal D, offering multiple amenities. To commute from one terminal to another within seven to eight minutes, the DFW Skylink Automated People Mover system can be used. The rental car complex serves 10 different companies. History of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport

Dallas Airport had an opening ceremony between 20 to 23 September 1973, including the first landing supersonic Concorde in the United States. It was later opened for commercial services on 13 January 1974 as Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Airport. Due to its 17,500 acres, it was the largest airport in the world on an area basis since it was opened. Until 1985, the name of this airport had not changed to an international airport. In 1989, the existing four terminals were rebuilt, and two more runways were added. Terminal D was constructed in 2005 for international flights. Moreover, DFW served 81,764,044 passengers in 2023, creating a record of exceeding 80 million passengers for the first time in the airport's 50-year history.
